Dundee has a very convenient transport system, with bus and train lines plying the city and connecting it to major Scottish cities. Major cities Edinburgh and Glasgow are linked to the city via the A90 motorway.

Travel by Air


Dundee also has its own airport, where flights from most of central Scotland regularly arrive. ScotAirways is well served by the Dundee Airport and has regular direct flights to London. International flights usually arrive at the Edinburgh or Aberdeen airports, which are connected by regular rail services to the Dundee city centre.

Car Parking


Parking is fairly easy in Dundee. There are several strategically located car parks in and around the city centre, and many offer long stay parking for a monthly fee. Shoppers and tourists can avail of cheap on-street parking near malls and restaurants, while those staying longer can park off-street by buying a monthly parking card for about £65.

Travel by Trains and Rail


The Dundee Station is the city's mainline station and serves frequent lines to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The ScotRail line has frequent trips to Aberdeen, and Perth, as well as a 70-minute service to Edinburgh. The East Coast rail route links the city directly to major English cities, including Birmingham, Bristol, London, Newcastle, Plymouth, Sheffield, and York.

Travel by Buses and Coachl


Frequent bus services to Edinburgh and Glasgow are offered by the Scottish CityLink and Megabus services. Buses leave for the two major cities almost every hour. Most buses arrive and depart at the Dundee Seagate Bus Station. A smaller service, Travel Dundee, goes around the city and is a popular transportation for locals. Coaches are also available, mostly provided by the National Express service.

Taxis usually line up at the bus and train stations, and most offer services anywhere within Dundee and some surrounding cities. You can also book a taxi in advance by calling a taxi company.
